Head to the Pumpkin Patch | Opens September 30th

It’s time to get our pumpkins! Take a drive out to DD Ranch for a nostalgic day picking pumpkins with your children. If you haven’t been, DD Ranch is only forty minutes away and features pumpkins, squash, corn, potatoes, and rhubarb you can pick yourself and bring home. Homemade wreaths are also available for sale. DD Ranch is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Not too far away, Smith Rock Ranch opens up each October with pumpkin picking, corn mazes, pumpkin cannons, pony rides, live music, and food for the whole family. There will be archery contests, a petting zoo, a train ride, a hay maze, and a farmers market complete with every fall fruit and vegetable you could desire. One of our favorite events of the season, the High Desert Museum will be putting on Tales of Hallows’ Eve, interactive ghost stories for kids of all ages. Wear your costumes to hear dramatic readings featuring live animals and surprises you’ll never forget.

Attend a Halloween Party | October 28th

For one of the best Halloween activities in Bend, leave it to McMenamins. Known for their quirky venue and eccentric events, McMenamins will be hosting a costume party at the Old St. Francis School. Held in the theater that’s rumored to be haunted, this party features Latin group ¡Chiringa! followed by DJ Spinzella. This one’s just for the adults, so stop by if you’re aged 21 or older.
