Santa’s Village Returns to the Cascade Village Shopping Center
Snow has started to fly in Central Oregon, holiday music is playing on the radio, and Santa’s Village returns.
Each year, Santa makes a pit stop at the Cascade Village Shopping Center to take pictures with the kids and make his lists. Don’t forget to stop by so your kids can pass off their wishlists.
The tradition of Santa’s Village
Taking pictures with Santa is as much a Christmas tradition as decorating the tree, and baking cookies are. Perhaps even more so for some. Santa began to make appearances in local shops as early as the 1890s. In Brockton, Massachusetts, James Edgar was the first to don the Santa suit, beard, and jolly attitude for shoppers at a local department store.
From there, the tradition was born.
Since then, areas like Santa’s Workshop and Santa’s Village host the jolly guy in red and white for children to whisper (or shout) their holiday wishes.

Other useful information for Santa’s Village
Santa will be at the same location as last year––next to Visionworks and across from Harry Ritchie’s. Also a tradition at the CVSC? Our Secret Santa tree, which you can find near the fire feature outside J.C. Penney. When you choose a gift from the tree, you have the chance to be Santa to someone in need. Plus, we’ve got all the shops you need to get your Secret Santa gifts and any others on your list.
Make it a day trip
Come to meet Santa and stay for the shops. Turn your trip into a full day for the family. Between the shops and restaurants, you’re sure to get everything on your gift list and more––with just enough room left for a treat for yourself. It’s the happiest of holidays at the Cascade Village Shopping Center.
