Good Bye, Winter! Spring things to do in Bend

Posted by Cascade Village

As the days grow longer, the allergies kick in and that pivotal time change happens causing us to lose a precious hour of sleep (yet simultaneously allowing us to enjoy the days longer—you win some you lose some) this means something amazing: spring is here!

Winter and summer in Bend tend to get all of the attention.

But there are plenty of things to do in Bend as those determined high desert flowers bloom and the temperatures rise slowly yet surely.

From enjoying Beer Week and the Foodie Crawl to golfing, the list of spring things to do in Bend is far from scarce.

And while Central Oregon spring activities may not mean lying out by the river and gallivanting around in shorts and tank tops, it does mean that scarves, boots and wool socks can take back stage, and lighter, fresh clothing can finally emerge from the bins and deep recesses of your closet.

As far as freshening up your spring wardrobe for this fleeting and hope-filled season, bargain shopping at Cascade Village Shopping Center is your answer. Offering the freshest spring looks, you will be jumping out of bed in the morning to get dressed (rather than that dreaded, “I have nothing to wear!” feeling when the seasons change).

In addition to bolstering your spring wardrobe with this season’s hottest trends, what are the other things to do in Bend that you want to be sure and hit up this spring?

  • Bachelor Springtacular! Mt. Bachelor boasts the longest season in North America. Springtacular passes include concerts, competitions, camps, prize giveaways and more.
  • Annual runs. From the Bend Marathon on April 26th to the Dirty Half on June 14th, there are plenty of organized runs to help motivate you to hit the trails and benefit from that fresh mountain air.
  • Hiking! From Horse Butte to Smith Rock and Alder Springs, there are some glorious hikes out there that are either too hot to enjoy in the summer, or not hike-worthy in the winter. Visit Bend has a guide of popular Bend hikes as well.

Put your best (fashionable) foot forward this spring, and make the most of this prologue to summer!
