Planning a Bend Oregon Weekend Trip? Stop by the CVSC!

We’re almost past the ups and downs of spring in Central Oregon—with all the strange weather it brings (hello 70s one day and snow the next). But if you’re planning a Bend, Oregon weekend trip in the coming weeks, there are a few things you don’t want to miss out on. Here’s what to include on your itinerary!

The Ultimate Bend, Oregon Weekend Trip

Maybe you’re a Portlander who visits Bend frequently, or maybe this blog has found you across the states. Either way, our little-big town has some amazing gems that make weekend-ing here a time to remember. Here’s how we suggest you spend the 48 hours on your Bend, Oregon weekend trip:

Explore the outdoors

One of the number one things any Bendite will tell you about our town is that we have an incredible outdoor playground. You don’t have to be a professional athlete to enjoy it either! If you’re looking for activities to break a sweat, try hiking Misery Ridge at Smith Rock State Park (it’s worth it, we promise) or mountain biking one of the routes on Phil’s Trail.

Want something a bit tamer? Explore the kid- and dog-friendly trail to Tumalo Falls or take a leisurely walk along the Deschutes River Trail in the heart of Bend. Even if you simply take your coffee or cocktail from the porch of wherever you’re staying and enjoy the view, you’re soaking up the best of Bend.

See what SUP is all about

Since we’re headed into warmer climes, it’s about to be full-time SUP season. SUP, or standup paddleboarding, is a Hawaii-born water sport that requires a little balance and a whole lot of fun. While you can SUP on any body of water, we recommend trying your hand at Elk Lake, Cultus Lake, or Mirror Pond.

Visit food trucks + breweries

After your adventures, you can reward yourself with delicious food and brews around town. We’re not called Beer Town USA for kicks, after all. Local favorites include Crux Fermentation Project, Deschutes Brewery, and 10 Barrel Brewing, but with over 22 breweries to choose from there’s a spot for every taste. If you’re looking for a quick and delicious bite while in Bend, try one of the many food truck lots including The Lot, River’s Place, and On Tap

Shop Like a Local for Your Adventures at the CVSC

When you’re planning a Bend, Oregon weekend trip, there’s another place you shouldn’t forget: the CVSC. Here, you can find the best stores in Bend and stock up for your adventures like a local.

Need a better pair of shoes for hiking around our trails? Dick’s Sporting Goods or Famous Footwear have you (and your feet) covered. Want a more relaxed afternoon of shopping? Check out favorites like World Market, Ross Dress for Less, or Board & Brush (bonus: it doubles as a souvenir!).

And don’t forget to grab your snacks for the road at Trader Joe’s and Local Acres Marketplace—and maybe See’s Candies for good measure.

Ready for Your Bend, Oregon Weekend Trip?

With so much to do here, it can be hard to pack it all into a weekend. But the best Bend Oregon weekend trip always includes a good mix of adventure, delicious food, and relaxation. We’ll see you soon!
